During the second half of the 18th Century the Established Church of Scotland was subject to quite a few schisms by a variety of heretical sects and non-conformist ideologies. Perhaps the most unique of these was the group known as the Buchanite Society, a herectical sect, which had its origin in the Royal Burgh of Irvine in the County of Ayr on the west coast of Scotland. .........
