There are a number of different avenues open to those researching their family history in
Scotland.
The Society's Resources
The Society own a large library of genealogical and local history material. This is located within Largs
Library, 18 Allanpark Street, Largs and is available to members, during normal Library hours, on production of their
membership card.
In the collection is a well stocked bookcase together with various data which is stored on CD-ROM, microfiche and microfilm

Ayrshire Resources
The county of Ayrshire is divided into three local authorities, North, East and South Ayshire. Each local authority
has established a Local and Family History Centre. Details of these can be found at

Their collections include Census Returns, Old Parish Records, Monumental Inscriptions, Books, Local Newspapers, Photographs,
Maps and Historical Documents.
